Why do bailiffs wear a Masonic Lapel Pin when giving evidence in court?


Bailiff companies train their bailiffs on attending court, including body language, posturing, etiquette and court procedures.

Male judges and magistrates are often freemasons, or "brothers", and their masonic lodge is identified by the handshake, but in a court environment, their lapel pin.
