The regulations do not set a fixed daily fee for storing a vehicle.
Vehicle storage charges are widely monetised by bailiff companies to make a profit.
The law says the bailiff may only recover disbursements that are reasonably and actually incurred.[1]
Newlyn Plc charges £48 a day to store a vehicle at scrapyard premises in Nazeing.
Marston Group Plc charges £12 a day at its north London pound on Harbett Road and at its pound in Mitcham.
When a debtor applied for a detailed assessment hearing to examine the bailiff's fees and charges,[2] the storage fees are usually cancelled before hearing takes place.
