The true value of a car is whatever someone is willing to pay for it.
For a vehicle to be exempt from enforcement, it must be used by someone in their trade, education or business, and its value is under £1,350.[1]
If you have had a car taken by bailiffs, they can make their own Written valuation.[2]
This leaves bailiffs to have a tendency to over-value the cars to place them above the threshold to be exempt goods.[3]
To get a robust valuation, search eBay completed listings for the same car as yours on a like for like basis, that have sold at auction in the last 30 days.
They make screenshots of the completed listings showing the auction price for at least three or more vehicles, and make a claim to exempt goods.[4][5]
