Does a bailiff know what car I drive?

Yes

If the bailiff is recovering a traffic contravention debt,[1] or an unpaid court fine for a motoring offence,[2] the registration of the vehicle involved is on the warrant of control.

If the debtor no longer has the contravention vehicle, or the bailiff cannot find it parked near the debtor's home, or place or work, the bailiff has no means to find out what other vehicles the debtor owns.

Bailiffs have campaigned to Parliament for access to the DVLA vehicle registration database to search for vehicles registered to specific people, so they can add them to their own database and perform drive-by enforcement,[3] but Parliament has rejected this request.

Doing drive-by clamping creates a risk for bailiffs because the vehicle may be on hire-purchase,[4] because the DVLA does not maintain a database of vehicle ownership.
