If you have a change of financial circumstances after the court fined you, download and complete a form MC100[1] and the court may remit the whole or any part of the fine.[2]
Ask the court to withdraw the warrant[3] to end the enforcement power[4] while considering your change of circumstances.
When the enforcement power has ended, the bailiff cannot recover any fees and charges.[5]
Send the completed form MC100 to the sentencing court and give the bailiff company a notice.
Template Letter
Send the MC100 and the letter to the sentencing court and get a certificate of posting from the post office.
Send a copy of the letter only by text message to the bailiff to his mobile and make a screenshot of the sent text message to record the date you gave it.
Never give a form MC100 to a bailiff company, they are unauthorised to means-test defendants.
