Councils only send bailiffs round to council tax debtors not in employment or claiming benefits.
If you have started employment while bailiffs are calling about unpaid council tax, you can ask the council to make a Deduction of earnings.[1]
Then you can ask the council to withdraw the bailiff action,[2] and that cancels the bailiff's fees and charges.[3]
There are limits on the amount of Deductions the council can take from an employee's income,[4] a maximum of 17% of income under £1000 a month.
