A bailiff may take control of any car or vehicle that belongs to the debtor.[1]
Bailiffs cannot take a car that is on hire purchase, because it does not belong to the debtor,[2] until the final payment to purchase has been exercised.[3][4]
If the car is under £1,350 and used for work, trade or study, it is exempt goods.[5][6]
