Bailiffs can only take control of goods that belong to the debtor.[1]
If the 17-year old son is the debtor, then the bailiff may take control of his goods to pay his debt.
Bailiffs cannot take control of goods of any debtors under the age of 16.[2][3]
Bailiffs are not interested in taking control of TVs and games consoles belonging to a child, because they have no material value when they sell them at auction to pay a debt.
If the bailiff is able to get into the property, and enters a child's bedroom, the purpose is to antagonise the householder and coerce them to "voluntarily" pay the debt on the debtors behalf.[4]
