Bailiffs can only take control of goods that belong to the debtor.[1]
Bailiffs can only take control of goods of the debtor where the debtor lives or carries on a trade or business.[2]
Companies often use their accountant's office or a virtual office as their contact address. Bailiff companies do this because they don't want angry debtors finding out where their actual offices are.[3]
For example, Marston Group Limited uses Rutland House 8th Floor, 148 Edmund Street, Birmingham, B3 2JR for correspondence. Royal Mail forwarded it their trading address where their offices and call centre are located. Kestrel House, Falconry Court, Bakers Lane, Epping, CM16 5DQ.
It means bailiffs have no enforcement ability at the service address because the debtor does not live or trade from there
