I have returned wrongly addressed enforcement notices on numerous occasions. What do I do?

Nothing

You are under no obligation to respond to a bailiff's document if it isn't addressed to you directly.

If bailiffs enquire about someone who isn't associated with the address, they cannot enforce a warrant of control by removing goods.

Should a bailiff cause disruption, contact the police immediately at 999 for assistance. Present your identification to the police and request the bailiff to vacate the premises calmly.

A provision known as the "slip rule" enables the court to rectify inadvertent errors or omissions in a judgment or order, with parties able to request such corrections without prior notification.[1][2][3]

An incorrect or outdated address on a document indicates that its delivery via regular Royal Mail post hasn't been appropriately executed, serving as evidence thereof.[4]
